Memorandum of Understanding
Between Climb For A Cause and the Cambodian Dental Association
April 5, 2007
To improve the dental health care condition for people of Cambodia , especially for the public school students, and effectively prevent and treat dental disease, CFAC and CDA are in communication and working together to establish an Ongoing Partnership to commence in October, 2008. The two Parties have agreed on the following plan:
- CFAC will provide Support to CDA's Mobile Dental Project Initiative
- The Parties will actively cooperate with one another, making available complete, accurate, and timely reports so both Parties may satisfy their respective constitutents' desires to be kept apprised of the Project's progress
- The Initiative's Target shall be 28,000 school children in 48 primary schools of the Batie District, Takeo Province, Cambodia (appx. 60 km South of Phnom Pehn).
- The Initiative's Primary Objectives are:
- To educate the children about how to prevent tooth decay and other oral health issues
and - Through free diagnosis and treatment, to reduce the incidence of dental health problems among the children
- To educate the children about how to prevent tooth decay and other oral health issues
Specific Activities are to include: Classroom Training, Oral Health Check-Up, Diagnosis, & Detailed Charting, followed either by Extraction or Restoration using Atraumatic Restorative Technique (ART), and Post-Operative Instruction.
Work is progressing toward making the above goals a reality with a further goal of duplicating our joint efforts in other areas of need, throughout Cambodia.
