The Weekend of September 29th & 30th 36 Climb for a Cause participants met in Zion National Park to enjoy the beauty of the mountains and challenge ourselves to a grueling day of hiking, all to raise funds for children’s oral health and treatment projects!

“Record attendance and reasonable water levels made for a terrific experience for all Participants.” reports Climb For A Cause and Smile Tree’s executive director Daniel A. ‘Danny’ Bobrow.

“Owing to Park regulations, our Group had to be divided into Saturday and Sunday Teams.  Both Teams managed to negotiate the 15.7 mile trek, mostly through ankle to thigh deep water, and finish in plenty of time to catch the Park Shuttle back to the Lodge, and a well earned rest.” continues Bobrow.

At the Sunday Banquet, Bob Spiel and Aladean Attar were recognized and honored as, respectively, Rookie of The Year  and Distinguished Alumus.  It was also announced that, effective in 2013, the Jeff Baumrucker Memorial Scholarship would offer deserving dental students an opportunity to serve on a CFAC/ST overseas oral health education and treatment project.  The Scholarship is sponsored by Quality Dental Plans.  “We are deeply grateful to QDP for their generous support of this important initiative, which will enhance the dental student’s experience and remind these future dental professionals of the capacity for their chosen career to make a meaningful and positive difference in peoples’ lives.” concluded Bobrow.
